On the 7th of February 2024, Durgapur Sundaram Welfare Society marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. This philanthropic endeavor was made possible through generous funding from SGW, Kulti, as part of their dedicated CSR commitment.


The distinguished event witnessed the presence of notable personalities, including Mr. Suvashis Sengupta, Chief General Manager (CGM), and a group of General Managers (GM) comprising Mr. D Ghosh, Mr. Krishnendu Dey, Mr. Aloke Chandra Dey, and Mr. RS Mahavar. Additionally, Deputy Managers Mr. Gourav Das, Dr Mishra Deputy CMO, and Mr. Zeeshan Adil AGM were also in attendance, highlighting the collective commitment to societal welfare.



The CSR project entails the commencement of tailoring classes, scheduled six days a week, 3 hours class every day, by Durgapur Sundaram Welfare Society. The targeted beneficiaries are women aged 18 and above, aiming to equip them with valuable tailoring skills. This initiative is strategically designed to empower these women, enabling them to integrate this proficiency into their entrepreneurial pursuits, ultimately securing their livelihoods.



Durgapur Sundaram Welfare Society expresses gratitude to SGW, Kulti, for their steadfast support in realizing this noble cause. The organization looks forward to the positive impact this initiative will have on the lives of the beneficiaries and the community at large.

Inauguration Report: Resumption of CSR Initiative – Health Camp cum Dispensary by Durgapur Sundaram Creative Welfare Society

On the 8th of February 2024, Durgapur Sundaram Creative Welfare Society marked the triumphant resumption of its CSR initiative, a health camp cum dispensary, with an impactful re-inauguration event. This commendable project, generously funded by Bokaro Steel Plant, Chasnala Colliery, as part of their unwavering CSR commitment, had temporarily paused for the last six months.


The event was graced by distinguished personalities, including Mr. Sanjay Tewary and Mr. Sibaram Banerjee, Chief General Managers (CGM), and a formidable team of General Managers (GM) comprising Mr. Md Adnan, Mr. Hanuman Sharma, Mr. Ajay Kumar, and Mr. Sanjiv Singh. Dr. Poonam. The essence of this CSR initiative lies in establishing a permanent health camp cum dispensary that will operate five days a week. Bokaro Steel Plant, Chasnala Colliery, has generously provided a dedicated space for this noble cause. The facility boasts the presence of qualified doctors, supported by a team of dedicated paramedical staff, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services to the local population.


The spectrum of services includes medical consultations, diagnostics, and provision of essential medicines. This strategic approach aims to address the healthcare needs of the economically disadvantaged residents in the surrounding villages. The positive response observed on the very first day of the re-inauguration serves as a testament to the critical role this project plays in meeting the healthcare requirements of the community.


The collaboration between Durgapur Sundaram Creative Welfare Society and Bokaro Steel Plant, Chasnala Colliery, underscores the shared commitment to community well-being. Mr. Sanjay Tewary and Mr. Sibaram Banerjee emphasized the enduring impact this initiative will have on the lives of the underprivileged, reinforcing the societal responsibility that both organizations hold dear.
