Durgapur Sundaram Creative Welfare Society is a Non-government Organization (NGO)

Durgapur Sundaram Creative Welfare Society is a Non-government Organization (NGO), whose work is focused on women empowerment, entrepreneurship and promoting income generation among disadvantaged women to ambit their livelihood. DSCWS is registered under the Societies Registration Act in 2006 S/IL 38401. Our main branch office is located at Santuri Block, Purulia, W.B. The NGO was set up in 2006 with the member of 3 people who came from Social Work background. Our team is dynamic and always looks forward for advancement of women & adolescent girls who need support. Gender justice, natural resource management, and livelihood security are our primary areas of concern.

Many women from rural areas are active in our projects, which include Kantha stitch, hand embroidery, hand painting, agarbatti manufacturing, decorative candle making, Bandini, Jute and file making, Batik, Artificial jewellery making, bag making. As we progress through the years in partnership with Essar, Eastern Coal Limited (ECL), MSME, National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD), National Small Industrial Corporation (NSIC), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Ministry of Labour & Employment, and the Government of India, our NGO grows stronger in its work and expands its search for new companies to collaborate with. The Kantha Initiative, which is a large project for our NGO, is the primary emphasis of DSCWS. Human resources involved in this project include designers, traders, agents, and market providers, with whom our team is engaging to secure the initiative's long-term survival. We took part in Trade Fares by setting up a stall to promote and sell our items in huge amounts. Government officials have paid us visits and applauded our work. We have continuously won first place in Kantha Stitch at the District and State levels recognition for the past three years
